First bone-scan, first fracture, first cast...

After hurting his foot last week (we think he jumped from the top of the ladder on the bunk bed), getting no answers from the regular x-rays on the 19th, we went in for a bone scan today and more x-rays. He fractured his heel and has to wear a cast for 2 weeks. Then they will re-x-ray and see if he can go without the cast.

He did soooo good. No fussing, crying or flinching (even when they put the IV in). He brought his doggy along and then a dr. came by with a monkey for him... he was able to "treat" them too since they also had "hurts" on their foot.

He picked out his own color for his cast: Orange. Bright Orange. We sort of have a color system here, Jordan-Green; Kaitlyn-Pink, Joshua-Blue and Ryan-Orange. So when they showed him all the colors he naturally thought that orange had to be his. :o)

Thursday Thirteen...

1. I was inspired to do the Thurdsday 13 from my friend Cheri.
2. I am totally re-loving and plan to buy the entire set of "The Electric Company."
3. My kids are mesmerized by the show.
4. I am mesmerized by the show. LOL!
5. My youngest, Ryan, is going in for a bone scan tomorrow.
6. He hasn't been able to walk on his left foot for 7 days now.
7. We have 98 days of school left for our 2007 year.
8. I'm started working on a 100 day challenge 2 days ago.
9. I wasn't quite ready do begin, but I have a tentative goal that we are working on.
10. I hope to share more about the "100 Day Challenge" and update every 10 days.
11. Today is my dad's birthday! Happy Birthday DAD!! Love you!
12. My parents are driving to Montana tomorrow to briefly visit some family.
13. And I saved the absolute best news of all for the end... my friend Cheri is moving to Montana and will be only 11 hours from us!

I know this is brief... but it's something!! Hope to blog more soon.

The Ryanator...

Ryan managed to hurt himself this last week, he apparently jumped off the ladder on the bunk bed (at the top of the ladder according to Joshua) and hurt his foot. He won't walk on it. It has been 6 days now and while he can put some weight on it if he stands on his tippy toes, he can't put the weight on the bottom of his foot.

He keeps saying he has a "stick" in his foot, which means a "splinter". We took him to the doctor the next day and had x-rays but nothing showed up. They now want to do a bone scan Friday morning to see what is going on. We were told to "sleep deprive" him so that he won't need a "sedative" when they put him on the restraing board to do the IV & bone scan. I'm guessing that it isn't going to go over as well as they think it will, but we will see.








Katie is VERY helpful and carries Ryan everywhere he wants to go. :o)

New Deck!

On July 4th we decided to go ahead with the plans of building a deck!! My dad, cousin Jay, bil Dan and Mike started July 14th and finished up the first phase on the 15th!



We ordered the railings and have to wait about 18 days until they come in, then after the railings are up we can get the glass... then we can have a fully-functioning DECK!! Woohoo!
