Post surgery update...

The orthoscopic surgery went great Monday morning, the dr. found scar tissue and a bone spur in the ankle joint. I went home late that afternoon and all was going well until about midnight when the ankle started to itch... then by the next afternoon I realized I had bumps all over my leg where they had prepped it with a type of iodine cleanser (they had tried a new one due to my sensitive skin). I then made an appt. with the dr. for Wednesday.

On Wednesday my rash was worse, red and raised... they changed the bandage (incisions looked great, so problems there) and rinsed the leg. Gave me a prescription for prednisone and sent me home.

Thursday night - rash is even worse, fever is rising, don't feel good and my old wound is beginning to look irritated and hurts. Call the dr. again and they tell me to come in Friday.

Friday rolls around and I go in, was unable to see my regular dr. so the new one talked with him and they decided to put me on a mega-dose of antibiotics, double the prednisone, more anti-histimines, a cream and then I need to go back Monday.

I had no energy to debate or try to get answers Friday as to why this is happening... last thought was that I was having an allergic reaction to the pre-surgery cleaner. On Monday I hope to get some more insight.

It's itching like mad and I'm off to take some more meds... which will put me to sleep for a while.

Hopefully on Monday I will have good news and I will be feeling better.
